7 Character Traits of True Leaders
I recently attended a workshop at a church where I was introduced to the 7 Leadership Traits. The Character Training Institute was the organization that facilitated this enlightening training. Here are the seven key traits that define true leaders:
1. Visionary: A visionary is committed to growth and looks beyond immediate problems to identify root causes. They develop precise action steps to achieve success, always keeping an eye on long-term goals.
2. Teacher: The teacher imparts wisdom, maturity, and skill to others. They validate the direction and ensure completeness, acting as mentors and coaches to guide and support those they lead.
3. Server: A server sees and meets others' practical needs, freeing them to accomplish their goals. They invest their time and energy in others' success, demonstrating a selfless commitment to helping others thrive.
4. Organizer: The organizer visualizes the final results and directs resources for completing goals. They are adept at planning and coordinating efforts to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
5. Mediator: A mediator is intensely loyal and compassionate, analyzing the benefits and problems of a given direction. They strive to maintain harmony and understanding within the team, resolve conflicts, and foster collaboration.
6. Idealist: The idealist must have unimpeachable integrity and be open to correction. They identify problems as they arise and speak the truth boldly, upholding high ethical standards and inspiring others to do the same.
7. Provider: The provider is resourceful, prudent, and thrifty, constantly ensuring the best use of all available resources. They manage resources wisely, ensuring sustainability and efficiency.
These seven basic character traits are essential in all our leaders today. Review these traits and see where you stand as a leader. Are there areas where you can grow or traits you can develop further?
Reflect on these character traits and strive to embody them in your leadership journey.
